We are writing with truly mixed emotions to inform you that the opening of Buffalo Commons Charter School will be delayed one year.
This week, the Board of Trustees unanimously voted to make this difficult decision in order to ensure the school is ready and able to provide the very best for our future students.
At its core, this decision centered around the significant disruptions to critical preparations caused by the pandemic.
While we understand it impacts you—our families—more than anyone, please know that Buffalo Commons’ mission remains clear. Now more than ever our communities need strong schools that offer students a world-class academic program and the tools they need to thrive in today’s diverse and dynamic world.
We see the year ahead as a significant opportunity to engage more deeply, building relationships, partnerships, and a community-responsive school design. We are confident this will lead to an excellent school launch for grades K–1 in the 2022–2023 school year.
Thank you for your continued support—we will stay in close touch.
